At CrossPointe we desire to seek to live lives of Contribution in the culture we find ourselves. The church doesn’t exist just for itself, but for Jesus and His mission. Our time, talents and treasure must be leveraged toward the end goal of the story of the God—the redemption of all of culture for the glory of God. In Jeremiah 29:7, God calls His people to “seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” Jesus puts it this way in the Sermon of the Mount, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5.16).
Our prayer is that we would become a people of good works as a result of Jesus work on the Cross on our behalf. This will result in us stewarding our time, talent and treasures so that we may declare the glory, grace and goodness of our God throughout our city and communities.
Serving the City
At CrossPointe Church, our mission is to point Orlando to Jesus. Our vision is to see our city and world informed and transformed by the power of the gospel to the glory of God. One of our gospel rhythms is Contribution: that in response to the gospel, we will leverage our time, talent and treasure to further the mission of God for the glory of God. In the wake of this weekend’s tragedy in our beloved city, we are partnering with other local churches and hospital chaplains to live out this gospel rhythm of Contribution by serving the victims and their families. The following resource is designed to show you how you can join us.
Intercede for the victims and their families: that the Holy Spirit would draw them to Jesus for salvation and for comfort in the midst of their grief. Intercede for first responders like medical professionals and police officers: that the Lord would give them courage and strength. Intercede for our government officials: that the Lord would give them wisdom as they seek the safety and security of our citizens. Intercede for local churches: that the Lord would give us wisdom on how to love our neighbors in the wake of this tragedy. Intercede with us this Wednesday, June 16th 6:30pm at Wadeview Park.
