Title: Weak Together, Strong in Christ

1 – Call to Repentance (v. 1-4)
  • J.I. Packer, “Repentance means turning from as much as you know of your sin to give as much as you know of yourself to as much as you know of your God, and as our knowledge grows at these three points so our practice of repentance has to be enlarged.”

  • Paul’s approach to calling for repentance should be their approach to particiapting in repentance.
  • This is God’s heart for a united body.
2 – Call to restoration (v. 5-10)
  • Where discipline is the consequence of disobedience, restoration is the fruit of repentance. Restoration, likerepentance, has both vertical and horizontal implications.

3 – How to Be United (v. 11-14)
  • God has established you here in CrossPointe, for His glory and His work. For your good, the good of your neighbor and community. Why? Because he’s coming back for a church. Not your other allegiances. He’s not coming back for an organization, He’s not coming back for a para- church, He’s not coming back for political party, He’s not coming back for a country. He’s coming back for the church, flaws and all.
