[4] Two Brothers, Two Paths
Steve McKenzie

In Genesis 4, we see the first human family dealing with the effects of sin. The story of Cain and Abel reveals the profound consequences of choosing between two paths: one of humble faith in God and the other of prideful mistrust. Cain’s offering, given with a self-centered heart, is rejected by God, while Abel’s offering, made in faith, is accepted. Consumed by anger and jealousy, Cain murders Abel, demonstrating the destructive power of sin. Yet, even in judgment, God extends grace to Cain, showing that no one is beyond His mercy. This sermon challenges us to examine our hearts and choose the path of faith, trusting in God’s provision and rejecting the lure of self-sufficiency.
