[6] The Peoples Divided
Steve McKenzie

In the account of the Tower of Babel, humanity’s prideful rebellion against God’s instruction leads to a dramatic intervention. Despite God’s command to spread across the earth, the people settle in one place and attempt to build a tower to make a name for themselves, showcasing their self-sufficiency and disregard for God. In response, God confuses their language and scatters them, preventing further unified rebellion. This passage reveals the destructive nature of human pride and the futility of living apart from God’s will. It also highlights God’s merciful intervention to limit the spread of sin and points us toward His ultimate plan of redemption through Christ. This story challenges us to examine areas of our lives where we might resist God’s guidance, urging us to trust in His good and loving instructions for our flourishing.
