God renews our perspective and purpose of work and family.

 

RENEWING OUR PERSPECTIVE ON WORK (1-2)

  • The Heart of Work

    • We can work in vain

    • Work in not a curse (Gen. 1:1, 2:2, 2:5)

    • We can work with hope and purpose
  • The Hands of Work
    • Godless Striving
    • Laziness (2 Thess. 3:10-12)
    • Effortless Striving (Colossians 1:29)
    • Do you work in despair or with dependence on God?

 

RENEWING OUR PERSPECTIVE ON FAMILY (3-5)

  • Family as an Illustration of Fruitful labor
  • Culture’s Broken Perspective
  • God’s Redeemed Perspective

 

GOSPEL CONNECTION

  • God created us for work and family (Genesis 1 &2)
  • Sin brought toil to our work and brokenness into the family (Genesis 3)
  • God redeems work and family through Jesus and invites us in to living our his redemptive purposes (Romans 8:20-21).
