From Darkness to Light
Ephesians 5:6–14
There’s a moment, standing under a full moon, when you realize:
The moon isn’t shining by its own strength.
It’s simply facing the sun.
And in that, there’s a quiet miracle: cold rock turned into soft light, darkness pierced by borrowed brilliance.
It’s the same miracle happening in you.
If you belong to Christ, you don’t create the light.
You carry it.
You Were Darkness
Paul says it plainly:
“You were once darkness.”
Not near it.
Not dabbling in it.
You were it.
Sin didn’t just stain us—it defined us.
And left to ourselves, we couldn’t find our way home.
But Now You Are Light
“But now you are light in the Lord.”
Not by working harder.
Not by cleaning ourselves up.
But by sheer grace.
Christ didn’t come to improve you.
He came to resurrect you.
He called you out of darkness—and made you His own.
Walk as Children of Light
We don’t shine by striving.
We shine by facing Him.
And when we do, light begins to bear fruit:
Goodness that isn’t self-serving.
Righteousness that holds steady when no one’s watching.
Truth that liberates instead of condemns.
Little by little, the darkness loses its grip.
The cracks of light widen.
And joy begins to grow.
Wake Up. Live Free.
“Get up, sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
The call is simple:
Wake up to who you already are.
Lay aside the old shadows.
Face the Light.
Because in Christ, you are no longer who you were.
You are light.
