[3] God’s Goodness & Man’s Disobedience
Genesis 3 tells the heartbreaking story of humanity’s fall, where doubt and disobedience lead to rebellion against God. Tempted by the serpent, Adam and Eve question God’s goodness and eat the forbidden fruit, bringing sin and separation into the world. This passage reveals the devastating effects of sin: shame, blame, and brokenness. Yet even in judgment, God’s mercy shines through His promise of a Redeemer who will crush the serpent’s head. Though our attempts to cover our sin are futile, God provides a lasting solution through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. This sermon calls us to recognize our need for Jesus, the only one who can restore what was lost in the Garden.
