[5] Covenant with Noah
In this sermon, the story of Noah and the flood reveals God’s righteous judgment against sin and His mercy toward humanity. Despite widespread wickedness, God chooses Noah, an imperfect man, to carry out His plan for renewal. Through the ark, Noah and his family are saved from the floodwaters that symbolize God’s judgment. This event mirrors both the de-creation and re-creation themes found throughout Scripture. God’s covenant with Noah, marked by the rainbow, promises that He will never again destroy the earth by flood. This covenant points us forward to Jesus, the ultimate “ark” of salvation, offering refuge from the final judgment. The message calls us to trust in God’s provision, recognizing that His patience is not indifference, and to find our hope in Jesus, who brings true renewal and restoration.
